ABOUT TIBET MOTION PICTURES & ARTS

Tibet Motion Pictures & Arts is a Tibetan filmmaking venture established by Tashi Wangchuk and Tsultrim Dorjee in Dehradun, India in 2005. The unit produces feature films and documentaries for Tibetans as well as the world audience. So far they directed and produced two Tibetan feature films- Richard Gere is My Hero & Phun Anu Thanu and documentary films including Democracy in Exile & Miss Tibet in Exile.

TASHI WANGCHUK (Co-Director)

Tsultrim After finishing his schooling from THS, Mussoorie, Tashi studied MA Economics from Dehradun. He then studied filmmaking from the US under Fulbright Scholarship in 2003. Earlier he was an instructor cum PRO at Tibetan Institute of Performing Arts (TIPA), Dharamsala. While working at the institute, he wrote and directed several plays including the comedy show- The Bollywood Shooting. “Mirage in New York”- a 26 minute length film was his debut filmmaking venture.



TSULTRIM DORJEE (Co-Director)

Tsultrim After graduating from Central School for Tibetan, Mussoorie, Tsultrim served Tibetan Govt. in Exile for 13 years. He was also a two time school vice captain at his school. He then studied Digital Filmmaking and Cinema from Satvick Infotech & Diploma, Bhartiya Vidhya Bhawan, Bangalore, India. His debut directorial venture was a short digital narrative film, "Little Monk" which was also his final project for the diploma program. It is a story about a Tibetan monk and his escape into India.
